Lily Finds her Indian Heritage...

As most of you know, Lily's middle name is Indira due to the fact that I walked off the plane from India and was pregnant! Nice way of putting it...anyway, we gave her an Indian middle name since we wanted her to know her roots. While we were on the trip, Mike and I visited a Hindu priest who asked us to make a wish. Mike wished for a healthy baby. Anyway, we always have a special place in our hearts for India. Thus, when we were invited to Mike's cousin Christine's wedding with a Hindu ceremony and a Christian ceremony, we jumped at the chance to take Lily! We had a great time, here are some great pictures....

Lily with her first family....you all KNOW Mike couldn't wait to bust this outfit out again.

Lily with her second family.....this was great. While we were at the Christian ceremony, this family loved Lily and she went right to them. It was adorable. The man is Nilesh's uncle who loved the Hindu priest story about Lily.

This is the groom on the ceremonial walk towards the Hindu ceremony.

While we watch the walk...

The happy couple....

At the cocktail hour playing around....
Then, what we were most proud of, was the way she could NOT get enough of the indian food. Ate pretty much everything in sight and begged for more....very cute!

Here is a slide show illustrating one item she ate.....

Lily's Outdoor Fun

As the weather gets better, Lily gets to experience more outdoor fun! This picture is at Grandma's pool with her friend Sally. I am sorry but her arms in that bathing suit is hilarious. As Lily wants to keep her youthful glow, she is well protected from the sun in her floaty contraption.

We also went to the cabin and had a lot of family fun! This is a great picture of Daddy and Lily. Lily loved the place. When she woke up in the morning, she would immediately point outside and grunt to go out there.

Detroit City Rocks!

Thomas the Tank Engine was really cool. Uncle Mike had the time of his life....despite not being able to find "Thomas the Tank Tavern." Apparently, that magical place doesn't exist. Nonetheless, fun was had by all in that crazy whirlwind that is my family.

Then we rode the ferris wheel. Yes, even Lily, talk to her father.

Lily and Grandpa had fun on the train. She was the best "great little girl without naps chick" we could have hung with that weekend. Seriously, she had no naps and was still such a good girl...happy, chill, hilarious, outgoing and fun....wait, I think all those words are the same. Anyway, she was cool. (Hey, another word!)

Conductor Uncle Mike and Baby Lily...

Maddie finally smiles for a picture and looks great! Then Con-Man and Matthew cheated their way into the picture....

Sammie and Baby Lily having fun at his surprise birthday party....

We had a great birthday party for cousin Sammie. Sammie loves trains so Tammie ("B" as in) gave everyone conductor hats and train whistles. He was so surprised!

Crazy cousin Anson, making his moves.....

Such a great time just before Mother's Day! Happy Mother's Day!

New Nationals Stadium Welcomes Lily Bowers

Hi all! The Bowers Fam had a great weekend. It was a perfect day on Saturday for our first outing with Lily to the new stadium! She was so great the whole time.

Lily really did watch that game at times but only when Zimmerman was up. Also, thanks to Anna and Endo who got us amazing National's outfits for Lily...she is the coolest in the stadium!

Daddy and Lily ham it up....

Lily really loves to people watch and even gave some great waves to strangers. She was so happy and laughed at everything Uncle Drake and Grandpa "G" did.

Nice group shot on the second level by a drunk shirtless guy below..not to bad for..a drunk...shirtless...guy.
DC IN THE HOUSE!!
We think this next one a bit after Uncle Drake got a foul ball! That is right, first time in our lives and Lily's for sure, that we have got a ball at the stadium. Drake was a trooper and despite some high school kid just SCREAMING in Drake's face...that ball was all his! The ball was really cool too with the Inaugural Emblem on it. We think that Austin Kearns hit it but Mike and I were so busy protecting Lily's head and watching Drake dive, we all forgot. Needless to say...soon after, we moved back a bit. As you can see Stacey and Roger are now a bit more paranoid....

Lily could still care less.

Hey, she made it to the end of the 7th inning. We were impressed!

And to close out the day, we stopped by Maine Avenue to grab some lobstah and crab legs.
Lily wasn't afraid of the lobster at all!

Check out more pics from that day! http://picasaweb.google.com/mwbowers/LilyAtNationalsPark
